Peaches&Eaches Receive 'Good Practice' Toymark Award
We are very excited to officially announce that Peaches&Eaches have been chosen by Let Toys Be Toys to receive the Toymark Award for Good Practice, 2017.
We are extremely honoured to be recognised by Let Toys Be Toys, whose pioneering work we’ve been both encouraged and inspired by, and know that many of our customers feel the same.
Who are Let Toys Be Toys?
In their own words, “Let Toys Be Toys is a consumer action group that challenges gender stereotypes in childhood. One way we do this is by asking retailers to stop limiting children’s interests by promoting some toys and books as only suitable for girls, and others only for boys. We want retailers to sort toys and books by theme or function, rather than by gender, and let the children decide which toys and books they enjoy best.”
For anyone learning about gender neutral toys for the first time, the Let Toys Be Toys organisation is a great place to start, with views very much aligned with our own. Founded by a group of parents in 2012, the impact they have made has been nothing short of remarkable. For example, by December 2013 - only a year after they began - half of all high street retailers contacted by the group had removed “girls” and “boys” signage from their stores and removed gendered labeling from their own-brand toys.
